Changing Ignition Cylinder 86' Camaro
Hey Everyone,
So I'm new around here and new to Camaro's in general, so I was hoping some of you more experienced guys can help me out with this problem. Okay so I have a 1986 Camaro with the stock 305 carburetor and my problem is that my battery keeps draining out even when my car is off at a pretty quick rate (I'm talking draining within a day). My mechanic says its because the previous owner tampered with the ignition cylinder because I can start the car without keys (i.e- just turn the ****) and now it has a constant source of power instead of a controlled one. So I was wondering if anyone could help me with how to change the cylinder or if they think it could be something else. I've looked around on the message boards but I had no luck finding what I needed, so as a last resort I am asking for help. Thanks in advance
Car Info:
1986 Camaro z28
305 4bbl Carb
*Car is still stock no upgrades have been done....yet

Also here is a starting diagnostic guide - ignore the VATS stuff (starter enable relay) b/c you don't have that in your car: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=38
And here's wiring diags also: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=19
