TURN STEERING WHEEL = ELECTRICAL SHORT?
When I turn my steering wheel all the way right, the electricity increases (eg. lights brighter, fan blows faster etc). WTF? I know there are wires ON the colum, but what could cause this?
VATS? I swapped my steering column with one from a firebird, but I don't believe it has a VATS module? What could cause such a short?

Re: TURN STEERING WHEEL = ELECTRICAL SHORT?
Is the engine running? It's possible when you stop the wheel against the end, it's causing the engine to get more load on it (due to the power steering pump trying to push against a hard stop), which would easily cause this. Also, the engine rpm could change (which would affect alternator output at idle) when you just move the wheel, again in response to the power steering pump using power.
So... does it do it with the engine off?

Re: TURN STEERING WHEEL = ELECTRICAL SHORT?
No, only when in gear.
Check this out!! It only happens in gear and also when I shift gears. I think there is a circuit connecting the switch that prevents the starting in any gear but P or N and the ignition.

And even more interesting; at the end of each turn (eg. fully right or left) the voltage goes up. I think I am going to have to change the column. I think there may be a short in the knuckle.
