Wiring harness redo, 2 questions: is this okay, and is that safe?

Just replaced my 305 tbi with a 350 carb. I'm redoing the engine bay part of the wiring harness and have 2 questions:

1. I cut all the wires from the ECM and pulled them into the engine bay then got rid of all of them. Basically all that's left of them now is what went all the way across the bay and into the bundle on the drivers side. They are all cut to there and waiting to be dealt with properly. Is anything gonna bite me in the *** on this?

2. I plan to have one main heat shield tube going from the firewall on the drivers side, across the back of the engine, and along the passenger side wall of the bay up to the battery. Like this...

This means that all the wires previously going across the manifold, (some to alternator, some to starter), will be bundled in with all the other random wires that go and bolt into that little black thing next to the battery that the positive terminal also connects to. Is there anything wrong with all those wires being bundled together?

Thanks for any info!

Shouldn't be - as long as they are all shielded from one another.
