fuel gauge sender (fgs) readings...

can the fgs be read with a dvm or ohmmeter??

You can test the fuel guage with a variable resistor. 97 ohms is full, 10 ohms is empty. If the guage doesn't pass this test, verify power and ground. guage failure is rare though the delay function gerally goes bad after several years. That's why our fuel gauges bob up and down with movement of the vehicle. The sending units do fail along with wiring.
