Headlight switch issue?

Late last year my 91 GTA started having an issue where the headlights will pop up when I just turn on the parking lights. Every now and again I can turn them on and the headlights will stay down, but 99% of the time they pop up with just the parking lights turned on. Is this a switch problem?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Headlight switch issue?

Def sounds like the switch to me....maybe making contact on the headlight up pin when only the parking lights are on. A new switch at advance auto is only 25$ so if you try it out your not out too much. If anything else, it could be the headlight module in the engine bay. I'd try the switch first.

For kicks you could try a test light on it to see if it's your problem. Pull it out but leave the connector on the back and touch the test light to the yellow wire. If it gets power with just the parking lights on, you have a bad switch. The white wire should have constant power until the actual headlights are turned on, then the power goes to the yellow wire. (white has power with lights off, yellow has power with lights on). Good luck.
