No Spark

I think I may have a bad distributor component is there any way to measure the signal coming out of the dizzy(pin R tach reference wire to ecu) to see if its working? It has an 8-pin module dizzy, I used to use a handheld dmm on my carbureted cars to measure rpm while tuning i thought that would work but i got nothing....also can i somehow test the ignition module or vr pick-up individually?

Re: No Spark

Well yes there is a way to measure the tach output but that depends on what you have for equipment. Your DMM, assuming it can read frequency should pick up something. Thats only if everything was hooked up and the car was cranking ect. However, it may not read anything meaningful because of how the DMM reading refreshes and it may not read anything at all if the frequency is too low for your meter. If you read nothing my first thoughts would be to check for +12v, ground, then take your ignition module in for testing. Many auto parts stores will do this for free and they do have a tendency to overheat and fail.
