can't disconnect wires into firewall..help

on an 85 z28, driverside wires go into firewall...theres somekind of clip thing attaching the wires to the firewall that won't release. What's the trick to this clip?

I'm in the process of pulling all wire harnesses to put on 86 iroc soon to have a carbed 350 block number 3970010. We just pulled the engine/trans and are now pulling wireing harnesses to splice into gutted 86 iroc. Any help will be great.

There's usually a bolt in the middle of the driver side bulkhead connector.

I found it. Thanks. That means I can now get all that mess of wires over to next car. Next is instrument panel cluster. I'll probably have more questions tomorrow. But I'll post new threads.

Re: can't disconnect wires into firewall..help

thanks for the link. I hope I don't have to repin the c100. It looks tedious and time consuming. So, first I must identify to see if my c100 in 85 is the same as the 86. Then, if not same, I have to repin.

what kinda can of worms have I opened doing this project? At least my son is doing all thw work, I'm just figuring it out for him. The blind leading the blind.

Re: can't disconnect wires into firewall..help

almost every year has a slightly different C100 pinout (along with 'bird vs 'maro). i ended up buying a helms manual from a fellow board member to make sure i had the right pinout for my car, it helped a LOT. repinning's not that hard if you have all the right info.
