Hey everyone I did the led swap into my 91 guage cluster and now only one side of the guages light up, ive searched alot and people say it could be a crack in the circuit board, the circuit board is peeled from one corner if i glue it back down will this work and how can i fix a crack in the board if there is one?


Also if the circuit board is damaged and not fixable am I better off just getting a different cluster some guy is selling a 85 camaro cluster locally would it work.

 

check to see if you installed the light the right way first. i know some lights, depending where u purchase from, come polarized and some dont. so id check switching the ones that dont turn on and flip them around and see if they light up. hope this helps

 

The lights do work ive switched them to the side that does work to test all of them to see if they work and they do work when plugged into the working side.

 

So swapping in a earlier style dash will be a pita,does anyone know how to fix this problem or the electrical board itself?

 

if its a crack in the circut board, than no, glue wont fix it. i'd go to the junkyard & get one from there. it'll be cheap. and you could swap your gauge faces in that one if yours look better. i have 3 clusters, & thats what i did, i took them all apart, cleaned them, than put all the best parts on one & thats the one in my car i havent done the LED lights yet but i will be eventually

oh yeah, and theres no reason you should have to swap a whole dash just because your cluster is having issues.

 

Yea that was a mistake i was talking about just swapping in a cluster, guess I will go with just finding the style cluster i need and swapping it in.Thanks.

 

well, to swap to the older cluster you would have to swap the whole dash.. (IMO not worth it)

 

can you post a pic of the peice of circut board you were worried about? i'd like to compare it to mine & see the diffrence

 

The circuit board was ok one of the guages wasn't plugged in all the way on that side or the contact pionts weren't touching but it all works now except the yellow on 91 guages doesn't let enough light thru.
