Engine: 2.8 v6
Transmission: auto
89v6 to 89v8 tpi help needed please

Hi all just took out the 2.8 v6 inj out of my 1989 firebird and fitted a 1989 ish 5.0 v8 tpi maf complete with engine loom and ecm.I have no spark or fuel to the cylinders,the engine turns over ok on the starter and the fuel pump primes the system.What should i check,I have a volt meter so can check that just not sure where to check first,really need some help on this one.Has anone done this conversion and should it be a simple plug the new loom in and ecm or are there any differences in the wiring???

could be a VATS issue. not sure if the 89 cars had VATS or not. and you have to use the ecm, and wiring from the new motor, the old stuff wont work.

the c100 shouldnt change since hes only swapping out motors. thats the connector on the driverside that stays when you pull the old motor out. there will probably be a few wires that run through the wire loom behind the engine over to the other wire loom that connects to the c100. but you can just fish those out and seperate them.

Since you say you have neither spark nor fuel, I'd look at the ICM, and wiring to and from. Make sure it is getting 12V, and that the harness is plugged in so that the ECM can get the signals it needs.
