Hi all...Speedometer not working, even with new transducer - 1982 Firebird

Hi all, this is my first post here.
I'm from St. Paul, Minnesota.
I bought a very nice '82 Trans Am a couple months ago and have been going through it, fixing some minor stuff.
One item is the Speedo doesn't work. It's a mechanical driven one. I replaced the transducer and still nothing at the speedometer. I verified that the cable from the tranny is spinning and that using a dril to spin the cable that goes to the speedo from the transducer does make the speedo work.

A test light shows no power at all to any of the wore leads at the transducer, however the cruise control does seem to work somewhat, just not properly.

Any tips would be much appreciated!

Looks like I probably solved my own problem, or at least this one.... I jacked it up again and verified that the cable from the tranny to transducer was spinning. It was, but as soon as i touched it, even a little, it stops, so the other end must be really worn, or maybe snapped. I'll pull that out tomorrow and have a look-see.
