vats system measuring key resistance

I have been trying to read the chip on my key, and I don't get any good readings. I am getting 1.455?

Looks like key blank #6 - resistance range from 1411 - 1549, design resistance was 1470. It's just that you are getting a decimal because of where you have your ohm tester set. See: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=41
