89 Trans Am headlight problem please help!!!!

So 2 months ago i bought an 89 Trans Am 305 TBI with a 700R4 transmission and it runs great, but the headlights were zip tied up from the previous owner and he said the problem was the nylon gear in the headlight motor. I bought 2 headlight motors with good gears, so my lights go up just fine, but when i turn off my switch they don't go down. I tried using another headlight control module but the same thing happened. Any suggestions??
