Rear Defrost Ground Wire Smoking
Hey guys, need some help...my electrical skills are slim-to-nill so I thought I'd post here first before I go any further.
I am missing the ground plug that connects to the lift shock on the passenger side, so I figured I'd wire up a temporary ground until I get a chance to find one at a junkyard or eBay. The problem though, as soon as I turned the defrost on, that ground wire would begin to smoke and get hot.
Here is the picture I'm going off, and I am missing that wire all together.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Rear Defrost Ground Wire Smoking
It was a rather small wire, all I had lying around. Didn't realize I'd need a thicker one.
Anyways, I just bought this harness kit from Brock's Camaros on eBay...has all the wiring I'll need. If that doesn't work I'll try the switch itself next (but I think that's fine since it lights up and then causes the ground wire to smoke (so it must be getting power).

Re: Rear Defrost Ground Wire Smoking
Use a piece of 10ga and it should work fine. Do not continue to use a small wire thats smoking, you risk starting a fire
The link has more than you need. Cant really see the ground in the pic. If it comes awesome, if not clip the purple wire to length and crimp a ground ring on
