86 TA warning light?
86 TA warning light?
Hey guys, can anyone with a factory owner's manual for a 1986 Trans Am tell me what this warning light is? Pic isn't great but it's in the oil pressure, water temp pod on the dash. Looks like the planet saturn turned sideways
Just came on the other day and I looked all over the net and couldn't find out what it was....

The graphic is a choke lamp, but in this case, it means the choke heater or voltage issue. If the alternator does not put out proper voltage (e.g., under voltage) the lamp can remain illuminated due to the design of the circuit. The issue could also be with the choke heater, circuit, or choke heater relay.
Re: 86 TA warning light?
thanks guys...this light wasn't on until I took the car to get inspected, they had to rewire the parking lights since they stopped working, when I picked it up, this warning light was on (?) so I'm assuming it's something they did.....this used to be a TBI car, now it has a carb (600 Holley). Also, I'm getting ready to remove the ECM, as this will mainly be a strip car soon and I'm shedding everything I don't need...
