I need to know how to "hotwire" my fuel pump
I need to trick my pump into running, I tried simply giving it ground and power directly, but I guess my car didn't like the pump being disconnected from the system, and wouldn't crank like that.
I just need to know how I can bypass the electronics and run the pump directly since it seemingly won't crank the way I tried it. I am guessing I can just connect two wires at the relay connector but I don't know which ones.
Just need to know how to bypass everything and run the pump, while still being able to crank the engine over.

the pump has nothing to do with cranking. the fuel pump wiring runs behind the back seat and through the bulkhead to the pump. there should be 3 wires. one grey (or possibly tan) and black and one purple. you need to apply 12v to the grey or tan wire to get the pump to run. however, if your engine isnt turning over, that wont fix the problem

Re: I need to know how to "hotwire" my fuel pump
ugh, I knew I was going to get an answer like this...I know how to directly hotwire it, as I stated, I already did, and it worked fine. Except that while doing that, the thing won't crank, and no, that is not an issue/problem my car has, it cranks just fin if the fuel pump is plugged in. Idk why, doesn't seem like that should cause it to not crank to me either, but apparently it does, my guess is the ECU sees that there is no fuel pump and says why bother. But I really don't know why that caused it to not crank, which is why I need a different way to bypass everything.

Do it through the ALDL... Ground wire in the top right corner and a power wire (can possibly be even a 9V battery) in the lower left corner.
Fuel pump disconnected or not has nothing to do with cranking. The ECM won't set a code 54 until after the engine is running, and won't set it if there is power coming through the power wire.

Shouldn't but did...only other possible explanation is that the battery was too preoccupied with the pump or something, I just DCed the fuel pump and ran jumpers right off the battery to the pump. But wouldn't crank for some reason.
