I have an 82 Firebird. I believe that all the US made Firebirds were computer controlled. The Catalytic Converter had been removed before I got the car, also the wires to the oxygen sensor have been cut. The bulb for the service engine soon light on the dash has been removed. I re installed it and it just stays on all the time. I tried to get some response from the computer through the aldi connector by shorting the two pins and trying to get some error codes but no response from the computer. I am wondering has it been disconnected but if it has how is the Carburetor and distributor controlled. The carb and distributor are the original as I have checked.

Anyone any ideas.
