Wiring ID help

New to the site. Just got this 89 Formula and have been tyring to work out some wiring issues. Not new to wiring, just new to the 89 Firebird wiring.

I have two areas I need help with. First in the picture below is a group of wires coming out of the steering column. What do these go to? There is no connector and I can't find the other ends. They are red, brown, green and yellow.

Second is this little harness coming from the area of the bulkhead connector. The red arrows appear to go to fused links but don't know what they attach to. The black arrow points to a connector that I can't find the other half of. And the green arrow points to a grey wire just going nowhere.

Also, notice to the left there are a bunch of wires butt-connected together. I assume this isn't factory connections...yes/no?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Wiring ID help

The white plug in the last photo looks like stereo plug - stock or aftermarket stereo installed currently?

Re: Wiring ID help

Has (had) an aftermarket radio. But those wires come nowhere close to where the radio is (was).

Re: Wiring ID help

The first pic looks like it could be part of the wire ribbon going thru the column but I've never seen it like that. Best bet would be to take some of the column apart to see where they are coming from. Could be aftermarket. The second pic is def. aftermarket wiring for a remote start or something else. The white plug is a give away. Its not a factory connector. The little box above it isnt factory either and the top arrow in the pic looks like an aftermarket fuse holder. You're right about all the butt connected wires, thats not factory. Looks like someone cut alot of wires for some reason at one time and butt connected them back together. Hope they got it correct. Cant believe people cut wires on there cars and then cant figure out why stuff doesnt work.
