Parking Lights Strange Headlight Switch Issue

If this has been covered, please admonish and redirect. (I did search...)

When I engage just my parking lights on my headlight switch (top right button), it makes my headlights pop up (just as if I turned on the headlights). If I recall, this shouldn't be happening. Just the side markers and tail lights should turn on, with the headlights not raised, right? I swapped out the headlight switch with two known good ones...same thing. I swapped out my headlight control module with a known good one...same thing. What's going on?

Re: Parking Lights Strange Headlight Switch Issue

Two of my customers wrote in their review of my TDS 209280 Deluxe Headlight Repair Kit that the kit also stopped this issue for them. What I suspect is happening is that there is stray electricity leaking from the parking light circuit of the headlight switch to the headlight on circuit and through the headlight control module and out to the headlight motors. It will take less power to get those motors to move if the bushings inside are broken into chunks. By repairing the headlight motors with new Delrin bushings the headlight motors will require more power to start them in motion than this small stray amount that escapes across the switch. If your headlights are in need of repair, the kit may solve two problems. However if you have already repaired them, then replacing the headlight switch is the recommended solution.
