4th Gen Camaro mirror switch
Has anyone successfully wired up a 4th gen CAMARO joystick style mirror switch using the 3rd gen harness?
I have a 92 Camaro with the power mirror switch in the drivers door and wanted to wire in the joystick switch from a 4th gen camaro. After pouring over the wiring diagrams for my car, 4th gen Firebird and 4th gen Camaro, it seems like the 3rd gen and 4th gen Firebird mirror switch/wiring are the same but the 4th gen Camaro setup is different.. The 4th gen Camaro common wires are per mirror, whereas the 3rd gen and 4th gen Firebird are common for L/R and U/D..
Switching to a Firebird mirror switch is not an option as the switch will be staying in the door, and the panels are different. Unless someone can help me figure out how to wire it, I'll prob end up buying a 4th gen Camaro wiring harness and borrow the mirror wiring from that..

I've never done it, but I have an understanding of electrical.
Is there any specific questions you have? It sounds like you understand electrical yourself, so what's keeping you from just going at it and figuring out what needs to be done? Think about it, the mirrors are controlled by motors. What does it take to power those mirrors.
You could just swap the harness and everything, but where's the fun in that?

Re: 4th Gen Camaro mirror switch
Well what I am thinking is I can make the wiring common per side by just splicing blue/yellow together and using blue for one side and yellow for the other.. I think thats all I need to do other than obviously wiring in the rest of them to the right wires on the switch..
Gonna go give that a try this morning I think..

Got it figured out.. If you do what i said in the earlier post, everything will work but you will find that up/dn are backwards so you have to reverse the polarity on the up/dn.. Basically, blue/yellow cant be used as common, you have to use green.
Here is the *** packet diagram I made while wiring it up..
