I need help figuring out 4 wires, ive sorted and fixed the whole harness except the wires by the back of distrib. ( i have an 84 bird ). original v6 car, v8 swapped. I assume the 4 wires will be Battery to distrib, Tach, Oil Press, and Temp gauge. Anyone help? Ill go try and figure out colors on them tonight. is there anyway i can test the wires and see which gauge moves?

 

Maybe this is a dumb question... are you running carb or EFI?

 

Carb of course. Id be far more confused than 4 wires with efi. Lol

 

Haha, it just threw me for a second when you didn't mention ECM... I had to rewire my ignition setup last year and had to figure out my wiring too, and the way I did it was ohm metering the wires to their respective connections on the ECM... I'm not gonna be of any help on your setup though. Sorry.

 

Oh okay, Well thanks for your input, the battery/ign to dist should be easy, the other 3 ill have to figure out what ohms to send it, and how todo that efficiently lol

 

None of those wires changed from the V6 to V8 conversion and lucky for you, they never changed from 82-92, so ANY 3rd gen harness will have what you need

You want F4 (PNK), D6 (WHT or BLK/WHT), E5 (TAN) and F5 (DK GRN) respectively
