Swapping a 145mph speedo

Before I attempt to swap a 145mph speedo into my '89 Iroc can anyone tell me if it's a simple plug & play type install or if there is anything else is required to make it work correctly? Thanx in advance!

Plug and play as long as you're swapping in a mechanical speedo (for the 145 that's 86-89). I'd swap only the speedo head in to avoid possible electronic gremlins.

I don't recall seeing a speedo cable on the trans (700R4), or would the cable be somwhere else? It is possible that it too was swapped buy previous owner, as the motor, sway bars, rear end and brakes don't match the spid sticker.

If your current OE speedo functions, it's mechanical and will have a cable from the 700R4.
