new use for an old Idiot ... Light.
The wiring harness in my bird is so hacked up that half the time I can't tell what is what ... except the PO must have had a BIG stinkin spool of Green wire.
So when my alt. went out this last time I decided I wanted an Idiot light for the dash.
My bird started life as a carbed v8 ... there is an IDIOT light for the electric choke. the PO swapped in an 85 TPI setup. (see comment about green wire
)
Anyway I traced that wire to a Lt Blue wire that was taped back on the passenger side wiring harness it still had the single connector on it. I pulled the wire back and reran it to the alt. and spliced it in, in place of the old (GREEN) sense wire. OK there was a coulple of inches of brown before the inevitable splice.
Removed the choke relay (Green three prong relay in the convieniance center) and I now have a working idiot light for my alt and my voltmeter still works.
