Anyone know what these two wires are/were for? The white wire is located near the trunk pull down motor and the black/red wire is also in the trunk area below and to the left of the pull down motor. It is an 88 camaro sport coupe convertible.

 

They look like some crappy ground wires.

Wires to // from relays----
Some options were not available til later production years & models,
But GM had the harness installed anyway. There is at least 1 thread about some of these mystery wires, but IDK where it is-- Interior, Electrical, History // Restoration.

 

The black wire with the tap is not factory. GM didnt use any colored crimp-on ring terminals. All ground rings were brass like in your pic or steel with serrated stars to cut through paint
