Hatch auto locking issue
I have power to the hatch motor but no movement, yet the motor heats up so I removed the fuse.
Fuse till now was blown.
Guy before me used a 5 amp fuse, I just tried with a 15 amp fuse.
I rarely open the hatch but I hate slamming the hatch to get it shut.
Just wanted to know what I need to fix to get this working.
Thanks

Re: Hatch auto locking issue
Motors heating up like that are usually in a bind somehow. Most likely the gears are broken inside. Another possibility is the brushes are extremely worn. Either situation means replacement. I'm pretty sure that's why the hatch motor on my 90 RS wasn't working. I had to almost destroy the motor to find out, but I'm going to replace it with a non-motorized latch soon.
