Re: buffer box location

iirc, there is no buffer box on 91s. The little black box that says ac is cruise control.

Re: buffer box location

yes, Ip is instrument panel. It maybe yellow or cream colored. the black box you saw was the passkey vats module and the silver one is for srs.

Re: buffer box location

1. The SIR module is under the console.
2. The silver box under the dash is for the rear defroster grid.
3. The AC box is the cruise control module.
4. You don't need any speed sensor modulator as long as you have a speed sensor that fits the transmission (unless the VSS with the T56 puts out the wrong number of pulses per mile) because the cruise control and the speedo head get their signals directly out of the buffer built into your ECM. (Could be wrong, have to look in the 92 FSM I don't have handy ATM)
5. If you did have a buffer box, it would be bright YELLOW and would be mounted to the back of the ECM bracket (ECM facing towards the heater box and the buffer facing towards the seats).
6. And the VATS module is under the middle of the dash, behind the instrument cluster on the passenger's side (to the right of the cluster and the left of the heat controls).
