Hello all, im currently looking to buy an engine harness from another board member here and i need a quick answer if possible. i have an 86 TA with a 5 speed and a 350 carb'd. i originally bought this car on CL a few years back and its finally time to get her back on the road! problem is the harness the PO had in the car consists of all red wires...... i have no idea what goes to what. i want to know if an 87 camaro automatic harness will work on my 86 TA, i know MOST of the wires will not be needed but i need to make sure that the bulk head harness parts will work and that my gauges will all work correctly. i also know that the dizzy will need some different wiring as the 87 has a small cap distributor and the 86 is an HEI distributor. any help will be greatly appreciated

 

What part of the harness are you going to be using C100 on the engine side or C100 on the interior side. I do know that no matter what you do you will have to re run the reverse lights on the auto harness as yours is set up for a 5sp. I had to do the same thing on mine when I did it as I have a 87 interior 5sp harness and custom LS1 harness pocket did for me

 

Sorry you only need to rerun the reverse lights if you use half of a auto harness attached to a 5sp harness

 

im just using the engine harness. from the firewall on the driver side to where the ECU is, i know i wont need alot of the wires but i do need a new harness. i already have a headlight harness and fog light harness. is everything else going to work? the reverse light is that hard to re-run?
