Can someone be very kind and tell me the function of GTA taillights on a -87? I have imported the car and the taillights was modified for another country and now i want to make them original. So i need to know the function to know what they changed in the wiring. Also if someone know the wiring, it would be great.

I posted a manual on this site for an 88 TA ( my car is an 87) It should have all the wiring diagrams you need.

 

Not sure where you are from, but you can likely find a tail light harness and have it shipped. There is a single plug in the DS back hatch and the whole harness removes. Esp if yours is hacked it would be worth it.

The inner white are reverse. the 2 sections in the middle is running lights and brake lights, should they flash too? or just the outer section?

Should the outer section just flash or should it also be brake and running light?


Anyone have a GTA? or a trans am? with those taillights. Im not sure if every trans am have these taillights. but at least the GTA:s should have.

I do,

most inner are back up lights, next two out are parking lights as well as brake and signal lights, the 3rd light out is only a parking light (I believe), mine ride is stored right now and has been for the last year and a half, saving for a 6 speed swap after 700R4 started slipping, I will check just to be safe, if I don't re-post by Monday the above is correct at least for an 1988, they did change to orange singal lights later on....but if you imported a 1987, it would be the same as the 1988

 

I have a 87 GTA. The 4 bulbs are set up as follows:
Reverse.....running tail lights & turn x2 bulbs.....running tail light only
