Electronics Need help wiring something up? Thinking of adding an electrical component to your car? Need help troubleshooting that wiring glitch?

Missing wire, and an unknown plug.

Missing wire, and an unknown plug.

It would seem the ground wire is missing from the pass side dome light door switch, photo's below:





Also, the unknown plug is this, right next to the pass dome light:




So, where on earth does the ground wire normally go? I know there is one, I had the drivers side kick panel off, but that was way before I discovered this.

And, what is that plug?

ok,so GM and others wire cars for many accessories.whether they get those accessories depends on the buyer.so we later owners find all kinds of wire plugs to nowhere.its no big deal. and our cars dome light grounds thru the body,there is no ground wire on the pass. side

Oh alright, I thought it was something like a power lock or window plug. Due too it's location near the door panel.

I didn't know there wasn't a ground wire on that side, so I suppose the plug is bad, 'cause it isn't working.
