I bought a mallory nitrous 6 box some time ago and can't seem to get it working properly. I have an '85 irocz with tpi and hei with internal coil. I have followed all instructions and when I turn the key on, the box led flashes 3 times as it should signifying that it is get the power it needs. The engine fires up and runs for 1-2 seconds and then dies. I called mallory and they told me to buy one of their coils due to ohm differences. I am running an accel super coil and could not see any ohm differences. They do not even sell a recommended internal coil for this box. Should I just switch over to an external setup and run one of their coils? Thanks for any input.

 

switched to external coil that they encourage due to internal primary and secondary coil ohms and still no difference. May have to send the box in to have them look at it. The box has an led that flashes 3 times to show it is getting correct power to it. I'm just not getting any power to my coil to keep it running.

 

Called Mallory and finally got someone who knows what they are talking about. Apparently I can't use this box with tpi.
