DLR Sensor on dash- How to DISABLE?

My 1992 Camaro Z28 (Canadian) has the built in DLR sensor under the passenger dashboard. The problem is a couple years ago I had to purchase a new dashboard and unfortuntely didn't come with the DLR attachment cut out so the sensor in laying under the pad which means it's not detecting any light; thus lights are always on.

If I cut off the sensor and connect the two wires together that likely would result in it being in the "DARK" condition always and still having the lights always on I would think?

I just want to rely on the headlight switch now.

Any help? Cutting the dash is out of the question tho.

A Dash Of This And A Dash Of That

Connecting the photo resistor leads together will cause the DRL module to stay in the daytime mode.

In the Daytime Mode the turn signal bulbs will illuminate as running lights, looking a TON cooler than those drivers that are afraid to drive in the daytime without their headlights on.

When night comes, you can manually turn on the headlights with the headlight switch without any interference from the DRL circuit.

Happy Racing!
