Digital Dash Swap
Digital Dash Swap
I have an 86 TA that has had several changes and swaps, I have the old style dash in, I am just trying to figure out what I will need to do the digital dash swap. I have the dash, the bezels and the wiring harness, but no sensors. What are all the sensors I need, and will I need to buy new components for these sensors to go into, or will my car have these already?
I know I have to pull the carpet and everything pretty much to do all the wiring, I just want it all to function the way it is supposed to. I have a whole car that I am taking everything out of I just don't want to pay for it if I don't need to.
If anyone has a guide to doing this swap that would be amazing!

Re: Digital Dash Swap
You will need the entire dash, not just the clusters and bezels. They are different for digital cars.
The sensors are not already installed on a non-digital car. The location for the specific sensors are - in the latches of both doors, in the hatch, fluid sensor in the rad, and you will also need a washer bottle that has a float sensor in it. In addition, the digital dash also monitors front and rear lamps so it will let you know on the dash when one is burned out.
You are in for a tedious job. I have never seen a write up on this, but it may be out there.
