need some fuel pump electrical help

hello everyone, i just picked up my first camaro, its a 92 rs 305 tbi, im all about original and im not shure what to do here, ive searched many fourms with no luck, so i thought id rattle your brains... in my camaro the guy i bought it from was going to change it over carb, but... instead of just using a regulator they ran a wire from the fuse block to the fuel pump, the car still starts and runs (just takes forever to actually start) i don't have any pics to throw up right now but i will here in a few, thanks in advance for any help

Re: need some fuel pump electrical help

You need a regulator. A carb can control the fuel level in the bowls up to about 6 PSI, and the 15 PSI from the TBI pump is too much for it.
