1984 Wiper Motor Wiring
1984 Wiper Motor Wiring
We have a 1984 Berlinetta in the shop right now that I am trying to get the wipers up and running on. This car was gutted to be a race only car, now this customer wants it back on the street. We had to replace the multifunction switch assembly(Turn signals, wipers, and various other pieces). Finding a switch for this 1984 apparently was not possible(discontinued) so a switch for a 1982 was installed. That is a headache of wiring changes, but I can handle that.
My issue is I cannot seem to energize the motor and make it function so I can figure out the wiring. None of the All-Data wiring diagrams seem to match up properly. The car didn't have a wiper motor when I got to it, so we got a junkyard unit(reman didn't have the pump/cover assembly). The junkyard unit(and the reman) both have 2 wire plugs at the bottom of the motor, and 3 wire plugs up at the cover area. I cannot locate any connector to go to the 2 wire connector at the bottom of the wiper motor, and absolutely NO reference to this connector in All-Data.
I may well have to wire this motor from scratch or have the wrong wiper motor. Is anyone familiar with what I am talking about?
I am sorry to start a new thread when I found so many wiper motor threads, but none seemed to refer to the unique wiring situation I seem to be in. Some mentioned the connector at the bottom, but no reference to its function, wiring colors, or pointing to it in a diagram.
Thanks in advance.
