Firewall ground strap, and other grounds.
I have been wiring my car after my motor swap to non computer controlled carb, and as I've been wiring up my gauge senders to signal and hot, I realized something. I don't honestly remember where my grounds go. Engine block? Chassis ground? And where does the ground strap by the heater box bolt to? Also, which grounds go to the negative terminal on the battery? Thanks in advance guys.

You’re Grounded !
You can use any ground for the gages.
One original location for the gage ground is the black ground wires coming out of the dash connectors and going to the ‘Convenience Center’ bracket.
The Convenience Center is located behind the knee bolster.
The Convenience Center contains a flasher among other parts (just to help you identify it).

The blower ground goes to the right side head.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The battery has 2 grounds.
The heavy cable for the main ground, and a 12 AWG body ground.

Re: Firewall ground strap, and other grounds.
Thanks a whole lot man. I've been getting a bit overwhelmed with it. I did the motor, tranny, and whole interior with custom gauge cluster swap all at once. I figured id remember, but I didn't. When you say heavy cable for main ground where does that one go? I have the 12g body ground connected but not the other...

The big ground goes to the engine block on a bolt normally on a bracket for a/c or alternator

Thanks to both of you! I honestly didn't remember and I want it to go where it's supposed to.
