Solenoid wiring...
Installing a remote starter solenoid (Painless Wiring). Instructions are pretty self explanitory, but....
On the starter soleniod, I have the battery tab, another tab and two wires on one tab; all three tabs on the top terminal. The three wires are not color coded as implied in the instructions, they are red.
There is another tab on the S terminal, red also, but seems to be the "purple" wire identified in the PW instructions.
Instructions on the remote solenoid call for the battery tab to new solenoid tab on one side and solenoid to solenoid battery tab on another, self explanitory. As with the "purple" wire, to the new S terminal.
Where the confusion lies is that the PW instructions state:

LOCATE THE WIRES THAT ORIGINALLY WENT TO THE BATTERY TERMINAL
OF THE SOLENOID AT THE STARTER. LENGTHEN THE WIRE BY ADDING THE
RED WIRE SUPPLIED IN THE KIT TO THEM AND CONNECT TO THE LARGE
TERMINAL OF THE NEW SOLENOID THAT HAS THE BATTERY CABLE FROM
THE BATTERY CONNECTED TO IT.
There were three wires that went to the battery terminal on the starter solenoid, two of which shared a tab. I dont like the idea of tying all three to one tab, much less two.
I dont see any reason why I can use a tab for each wire and connect them to the new solenoid?
Here is the best diagram I could find: Seems pretty cut and dry, just confused about number of wires to the battery terminal, I read it as being just two, but I have three.
I hope the pic attaches.... posted here: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...rter-need.html
