windshield washer pump removal
My screen washer pump has stopped working. Is anyone able to tell me how to remove it, please? I tried putting a flat-bladed screwdriver under the tang and pulling on the pump but it seems to be stuck fast and I was reluctant to swing on it too hard in case I broke something. I am doing this with the windshield motor in place. Do I need to remove it to take the washer pump off? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you are looking at since the washer pump is on the plastic bottle & just presses into place.

Re: windshield washer pump removal
I'm not sure of the dates but I think with Camaro's the pump was part of the wiper motor until the 1987 or 88 model year. It may have moved around 1985-86 for Firebirds, but again, I'm not sure. However, mine has the factory original 1984 pump mounted on the wiper motor. Since posting the question I looked at a new pump motor for my year and it looks like it is held in place by the tab and the two electrical spades that plug into the wiper motor body inside the cover and you just pull it straight down, so I will try that. Thanks.
