wiring hell
I have swap v6 injection to a 305 carb and im trying to figure out my wiring for starting and power to the dash. this is what i have done so far PINK TO HEI ,WHITE IS TACH, RED1 AND 2 POWER, PURPLE IS STARTER, but im not getting the car to turn over. the car does have a vat but i changed the lock cyclinder. so i didnt think that would stop it from starting now. but im not sure how this goes to use the key to start and not a toggle.

Re: wiring hell
The VATS system has a starter relay behind the driver kick panel. This relay needs to be bypassed. Changing out the key cylinder does not bypass the VATS. With that relay bypassed I am able to crank but with the fuel injection still need proper power for the fuel pump when I swapped to carb. My distributor (Ignition) still had power when hooked to coil as per vehicle it was all pulled from.

Re: wiring hell
Check it out and let us know. With the block mounted fuel pump you need to make sure the original in tank pump is removed and an extension added to the tube to get it to the bottom of the tank. Then it is best if you figure a way to put a factory type in tank pre filter or as I call it a sock. Vats will not affect that at all just the cranking in this case. The best way to bypass is at the relay I mentioned.
