Brake light switch question
I am custom wiring my entire car. I am using the factory brake light switch. It has two spade connector tabs on it and what looks like a hose nipple. I hooked a keyed positive to one connector and the brake harness wire to the other. Now I assumed with the switch button pressed in. The lights would be off. This would be simulating my foot off the brake pedal. However with the switch button pressed in. The lights come on. With it released they turn off. Am I missing something here? It should be the opposite.

Re: Brake light switch question
That brake switch with the hose nipple is for cruise control. It has the opposite sense to the correct brake light switch - is closed with the brakes off, which isn't what you want.

Re: Brake light switch question
Ok I ordered this one. Hopefully it operates the way I need it too.

Re: Brake light switch question
The car should have had both from the factory, ie two switches side by side. If the original brake light switch is gone, a generic parts store one like you listed should work fine. They are usually nc I've found.
