How to wire to a fused 12V source?

I need to figure out how to wire something to a fused 12V source. It needs 12V constantly. Would I connect a fuse and a wire at the fuse block? I don't know much about electrical and could use some help.

I'm wiring the converter to lockup with a toggle. A few different sites say to use a 10 amp fuse and coonect it to the fuse box somehow

Most cars have a spare fuse or aux connection available to use for this. Not sure whats confusing you.

But so you know, thats not whats normally referred to as a "Constant" 12v termination. You actually would not want that constant. You want the circuit to only be live when the car is actually running then have the Manual toggle from there.

I guess my question is this...I have the wire that needs power, a fuse, and the fuse block. Does the wire connect at the backside of the fuse box? then just plug the fuse in like normal?

Yes that’s the correct way, and put the new fuse as close to the fuse block as possible.
