If both harnesses were removed from cars with the SAME Engine/Tranny combo than almost all of the wiring will be exactly the same.
** The GTA ENGINE harness will have 2 electric VSS wires (Yellow & Purple) to feed the electric Speedo, the IROC harness will not have these 2 wires. Finding these 2 wires - or electric speedo plug - on a harness is the easiest way to see if your looking at a Firebird or Camaro harness.
I'm pretty sure that is the only differences to the engine harness. Keep in mind that battery cables are NOT the same, and the Headlight harnesses are VERY different ! If the GTA is a digital dash model than it might also additional sensors in the engine bay (possibly coolant level, washer level, ect.. ) but IIRC those wires run thru the headlight harness.
