86 iroc interior wiring screwed!! any suggestions

Okay finally got my 86 iroc home two nights ago (lot of fun lovin the v8 world) and was hoping the reason i had no fog lights cig lighter blower horn or dome and courtesy lights were the result of blown fuses but sadly is not. My first suspect was to check radio wiring only to find that the original factory harness had been spliced and at the radio i have a ground and positve connected but the illumination wire is routed to the power accesory fuse to run the radio with ignition on and accesories on. I also would like to mention that my fuel gauge is stuck around 1/4 tank even if unplung the sending unit over the axle with engine running. Where do i start?

Just read up on the diagrams for the fuel gauge now i dont think its a sending unit problem its not pegged past full but it just stuck around ¹/⁴ and occasionally empty it acts like it not getting power from the fuse box but all my other gauges work unless the cluster panel has more than the one ground under the steering column that i dont know of....

Had this same problem years ago with my 86 IROC except headlights didnt work as well. Check the fuselink at the starter. Mine was cooked. I replaced it and all was well again.

The link by starter is it for the fog lights or fuel gage?
