Weird headlight problem...sorta
I gotta 89 Firebird Formula 350. Everytime I slow down to come to a stop, the headlights will blink one time as the tranny downshifts back to 1st gear. Every single time. New alternator and belt. Any input?

Your Car Blinks, Therefore It Thinks

Re: Weird headlight problem...sorta
Well, they blink momentarily as if it were a loss of power going to them. However, I did notice today the the blower motor does the same thing. I can tell the fan speed lowers a little as well. It has to be a system wide thing. Could the battery be bad and putting a strain on the alternator? I know it has a Hypertech cooling fan switch and now the cooling fan on the passenger side runs all the time now. That may have alot to do with it. I'm thinking of putting a stock fan switch back in. The car has a 180 degree thermostat and a Hypertech 4028 switch.
