My alternator is on its last leg. I don't have $100+ for a new alt, so I'm hoping I can find one at a junkyard. Is there any cars that have over 110amp output that will directly bolt up/plug in to a 3rd gen? I'm looking for a minimum of 125-130,hoping for around 140. Thanks

cs144 alternators with the ropoper clocking, there are 3 styles of the front part of the case with the mounting ears in diff. positions (for example pre 88 uses a different clocking from later), they are not interchageable.

Cs144 are stock alt.s or aftermarket? But if they're stock, do you know what cars/trucks came stock with them? And I'm guessing its 144amps?

goto rockauto.com and look up the alternator for your car then look it up for a 88-92 c or k tbi truck 5.0 or 5.7L I think its the same. You should be able to find one at your local junk yard.
