Wiring Electric Choke for Edelbrock
Choke for Edelbrock
Ok, so heres my problem. I have the choke wired as edelbrock recommends, to an ignition port on the fuse block, but I want it to not be hot until the engine is actually running. My thought is a 3 prong switched oil pressure sender that closes two of the posts when pressure is on to ground the choke. I'm just not sure whitch sender is applicable, since most are just for dummy lights and not gages. Can anyone telll me a part number for this sender or vehicle/ engine combo for one?

What induction system did the car have originally?
Re: Wiring Electric Choke for Edelbrock
Originally a tpi car, saved it from a junyard with no drivetrain. There is no ecm, and all wiring for it removed.Put a carburated '85 harness in it, but to my understanding , stock choke wire does not run a full 12v which the Edelbrock needs. Don't get me wrong, the choke works fine as it is set up, but I dont want the possibility of turning the ignition on for some reason and have the choke open, then try and start the car and it wont get enough fuel. Wife or daughter may drive it at some point and you know how that goes.

Stock carbureted wiring for it will work fine, if you have it all. Or you can take power from the 86 TPI oil pressure switch.
