87 Camaro Electrical issue... help?

My battery up and died suddenly after a drive, got it replaced and still noticed the battery guage reading extremely low (in the red). Then I had the alternator tested - was bad with little to no output to the battery. So I replaced that today hoping it would solve the issue but when I started the car, the battery gauge is still reading really low (see picture)

There is also a "noise"/"draw from power" (lights dim too) when the black wire with white strip that connects to the alternator plug is moved or touched. The plug and wires appear to be fine - although old. Also the output to the battery jumps from 11.4 to 14.0 when the wires are moved.

Any advice?

Looks Good 2

A connector and the wires can look good but have broken strands, that’s why a meter is usually required to diagnose.

So buy, beg, borrow, or steal
(but not mine)
a meter and probe both termination points, then wiggle to see if you can determine the faulty connection.

Happy Racing!
