How much ?

With the car shut off, how many mili-amps should I see across the battery ? I have something draining the battery and I'll be damn if I can figure out what it could be. Checked the obvious, i.e. hatchback pull down motor, seats, window switches etc...etc...Thought I'd start at the battery take it from there.

Thanks in advance

Re: How much ?

When doing a current draw test, the reading should be .05 amps or less. Anything more is considered a draw. How are you doing your test?

Re: How much ?

Thanks guys for the feedback...I was thinking it was in the neighborhood of a .05 amps. My plan was just to put a multimeter across the positive and negative terminal at the battery with the key in the off position. I will check the cig. lighter as well.

That's not the way you measure current. If you set the multimeter to measure current (amperes) and you put it across a battery at best it'll blow the meter's internal fuse. At worst you fry the meter.

You need to put the meter in series to measure current. Remove the positive battery terminal from the battery and put the meter between the cable and the battery.
