oil psi gauge/dome light wire slicing
i recently put in a mechanical oil pressure gauge it came with a light to illuminate the gauge obviously. I had it wired up to the fuse box but the light bulbs in the oil psi gauge keep burning out for it being on all the time (i put a 20 amp fuse on the power wire as a heads up), i just dont want the light on all the time an i want to be able to see it at night. i would like to splice the power wire for the oil psi gauge into the dome light switch so the light on the oil psi gauge only come one when the cluster lights come on, is this possible or where whould i spice this in to make it happen?

Yes its doable, 20A is a way bigger fuse than a gauge bulb needs, think 5A probably more like 1A. If I had my manual I could tell you exactly which wire to tap, without it, probe, better still back probe the wires off the dimmer until you find the one that will change the intensity of the test light as the dimmer is turned.
IIRC GM pretty much uses an orange wire for illum/dimmer
