Test rear hatch switch -- brakelight related
Hi all,
I just got my 86 back from paint and have most of her together, except the high mount brake light is not working. I did some extensive searches and learned all about checking the struts and second brake switch at the petal.
My question is very specific. As with most of our cars, mine has the switch in the hatch that activates the brake light and defogger, 4 metal contcts in the rear hatch cover (over the pull down motor), two prong "switch" under the rear glass itself.
How do I test that when this "switch" closes when the rear hatch closes that whatever magic it needs to is done? I tried checking connectivity between the two terminals with the upper switch open and closed with no change.
Following the advice here and having an Engineering degree I checked all wires and continuity. I want to rule out this hatch switch. And yes I did clean the terminals like the search told me to do.
