I have an 85 camaro that brake pedal makes gauge lights come on and off. Also the headlights get brighter when press pedal to. I have auto meter ultra lite gauges thinking may be short somewhere im totally lost.

 

Hi. I was thinking it could possibly be a short in your wiring. There should be two grounds for both headlights. Check the grounds on the wiring and check/trace the wires for any cuts or exposed wire possibly making metal contact.

My guess is a bad ground in your tail lights.

When you press the brake pedal the brake light filament gets power. Instead of going straight to ground, because it is bad, the current goes back into the running light filament and back feeds the dash/parking lights to reach ground through those lights.

 

there is a relay at the back does that ever fuvk up changed some lights bolbs it was fixed now doing it again . some one must of had this problem . i changed my steering wheel cut air bag wire could this do it before i did this my car did this the odd time 4 way flashers don't work now signal ligts don't work wat a mess well tomarow is another day
