What is this wire?
Ok so I replaced my headgaskets on my 1985 2.8L v6 camaro. And in the process I pulled a wire from my wiring harness. It was pulled out of the part of the wiring harness that runs right above the transmission behind the distributor. On my 2.8L v6 there are four grounding connections that connect to the back of the driver side cylinder head. This wire is located in that general area. It is a pink wire. And in my picture it has a piece of black electrical tape on the end. So far my only problem is a check engine light. It is throwing a code 22. Which I think might be related to this but it could be a vacuum leak like it was the last time I had that issue. So far I have not seen any direct issues related to this wire being pulled so I am wondering what it is. And I dont think it is a grounding wire.

Re: What is this wire?
After an hour or so of work I fixed the wire. And I tracked it down so I would know what I fixed. It is a pink wire for a sensor that connects to the transmission. After fixing it I still had my check engine light on. And I did not notice the car perform differently. Does anyone know why?

Which is the code for low voltage on the TPS
Because on your your car there is nothing on the trans to cause the SES light.
Did you check the TPS ?

Re: What is this wire?
My tps sensor is new and I had a cylinder head replaced and the other machined. The tps was replaced before the head gasket change since I had a code 22 before and had to fix it. Last time I fixed it I replaced an old cracked vacuum hose and the code 22 went away. I have checked for vacuum leaks after putting the engine back together and I have found nothing so far. Right now the car has a high idle. But that just may be the timing is off since I don't have a timing light and have to do it by ear. I think what a code 22 is trying to say is that my car is not idling right and needs to be looked at.
